You can make an appointment by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to +45 91662120 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Guido will answer you asking which is the best day and time where both can coordinate the meeting.
A complete treatment consists of 10 sessions, having one session per week. Sessions last between 45 min to 60 min. Depending on how long the problem has been developed over time and which personal resources you count on to deal with it, we could agree to lengthen or shorten the number of sessions. Some people need four sessions; others need 12 or more. The focus will be on finding a change in your situation from day 1 when we had the first session.
Therapy helps in many different ways and can be achieved for various goals. The simple act of expressing or sharing what you feel helps to alleviate the feeling of anguish. But many times, that is not enough. Having the opportunity to hear another perspective about your context and history could impact how you perceive your reality and value it, leading you to take new actions never thought of before. Another way to solve a problem could be to learn new skills related to the area of focus, such as social skills, emotion management skills, defusing thoughts or beliefs that stops your potential, strategies to deal with particular situations, etc. Sometimes as Human Beings, we have to learn to live with things that cannot be changed and hurt a lot. So the opportunity to accept living with them and not let it interfere with moments of happiness, or good times with friends or family, could be, for example, another skill to develop. But the thing is, whatever you are going to learn, should help you to feel something different than you are right now.
You can always decide to stop the treatment, and it will cancel subsequent sessions immediately. The best way to do so is to arrange one last session where you will be able to receive feedback from the psychologist. In that way, you will be able to count on valuable information about different aspects of yourself and your context, which will serve you to continue your further assessment of the future strategies to consider.
In our therapeutic space, we will perform regular meetings, talking and sharing about some situations, but I will never prescribe medication since psychologists cannot prescribe them. Psychotherapy will always work as a complementary part of the treatment when the client is already under drug treatment given by a psychiatrist. Sometimes medication is needed when the person can’t be emotionally stable by himself, so the psychotherapeutic treatment can not be carried out.
As Guido works as a private psychologist, he does not accept a referral from the GP to receive the discount. Despite that, Guido offers a reduced fee for those who already have the referral but cannot find a psychologist.
Advantages of a private psychologist:
- No waiting list
- Flexibility on days and time
- Spoken agreement beforehand
- You can decide which psychologist regarding specialty and approach
- You will be welcome to say and ask all you need to feel comfortable with the treatment and the investment in your mental health.
- You will receive a tailored treatment.
When choosing the right psychologist, there are some essential factors to consider: how have you felt with the first contact, either by phone or email, if you like the approach and dynamic, and how their address your situation. If you felt comfortable during the first sessions and agreed, it was helpful for you. If you trust the therapist or it was recommended for a friend. Another thing to watch out, if you notice any positive change after some time.
