What is Depression?
Regarding ICD-11, Depression relates to mood alterations, with a pronounced tendency toward decreased engagement and energy and low mood. Generally is accompanied by some of the following symptoms;
- Sadness, Irritability, Feelings of Emptiness, Feeling down.
- Inability to enjoy pleasant activities.
- Fatigue.
- Disruption in sleep and eating.
- Irritability
- One is observed as tearful, with a defeated appearance.
- Reduced Concentration and maintenance of attention.
- Beliefs of low self-worth, inappropriate guilt.
- Hopelessness about the future.
- Recurrent thoughts of death.
